I doubt people won’t be allowed on the Shrub Hill platforms unless it’s changed a good deal since I was last there.
Anyway, it’s a funny old Cotswold Venturer that avoids the Cotswolds – is there work on the Evesham/Oxford line?
Oh, sorry for that last question; Iain Kernaghan says there’s a triangle.
How will you turn it around when you get to Shrub Hill?
Another charter where the timings might as well have “would you mind awfully not bothering” on them. Anyone would think the passengers drive to Victoria… 10 minutes between arrival of the stock and departure. Staff at Vic don’t let you on the platform until the train is there and they want the doors shut early, so no time to see Clan Line. Water stop is at a junction, so it’s Worcester then for the photo to show the world you travelled behind steam. Er, no, 5 minutes between arrival and ecs departure… Same for boarding on the way back. For my expensive day out behind a flagship engine, I’ll have to camp out at Shrub Hill for the turning move on the triangle… Presumably it’ll still be the air con mark 2s, so we won’t even hear Clan Line working. The powers that be really need to understand that the journey is the attraction, no one books a steam charter because of a desire to go to the destination, they book for the journey, you can get to Worcester far cheaper and quicker. In the evening at Worcester there’ll be lots of shouting at passengers as they try to get a photo of the train…
