Train operators are urging passengers to check ahead this morning as trains are majorly disrupted at Paddington.

A broken rail, along with a member of the staff being taken ill, means that fewer trains can run between and / Airport.

Trains cannot run to and from the airport until approximately 9 am and trains between London Paddington and Reading may be cancelled or revised all day.

Ticket acceptance is in place with London Buses, Great Western Railway, Elizabeth Line, London Underground and South Western Railway so please check with your operator for the latest advice.

The defect has been found on one of the high speed lines running into London Paddington and due to the high frequency of trains in the area, the decision was made to amend services to help minimise the level of disruption.

A broken rail disrupting traffic – fair enough. But you mean to tell me that the mighty behemoth of NR is unable to find even ONE spare signalman to cover that turn? Pathetic. What happens when we have an outbreak of flu this winter, and there are dozens of staff off sick?
