Great Western Railway has urged passengers to continue checking train times before travelling, with Storm Bert still affecting trains.

The line between Swindon and has been affected by flooding near Chipping Sodbury, and is beginning to clean up debris.

This is expected to take until the end of the day today (28th November), and until this is reopened, an hourly service will run between and South using a diversionary route, extending journey times by up to 45 minutes.

Due to storm damage, platform one is currently closed at Newbury station which means that GWR is having to reduce the number of trains they run to Newbury.

Trains that run between Newbury and London Paddington direct will not run. Stopping trains between Newbury and Reading and between Newbury and will run, and high-speed long-distance trains that call at Newbury will also run.

Please check National Rail for the latest travel advice.
