Avanti West Coast‘s Class 807s, which were built by Hitachi, have been launched into service today (11th November 2024).
The first run in service took place between Liverpool Lime Street and London Euston and departed at 09:01.
The Evero trains supplement the current hourly service and these additional weekday departures are part of the operator’s plan to run more services between Merseyside and the capital.
The seven carriage trains will also run to Blackpool North, with more increases part of next month’s timetable change.
Evero classmates, the Class 805s, recently celebrated 150 days in service on the North Wales route.
All Hitachi trains will work alongside the Pendolino trains, and the bi-mode Class 805s will replace the outgoing Voyager trains.
“The introduction of the Class 807 Evero on our network marks a significant milestone. The feedback from our people and customers about our new fleet has so far been fantastic and it’s created a real buzz about our services. I’m confident these new trains will provide a significant step change in comfort and a much greener way to travel.
“The challenge we have is to now build on this excitement, which coupled with our recent upturn in performance and plans to run more services, will improve connectivity to the regions we serve and encourage more people to opt for rail.”
Avanti West Coast managing director Andy Mellors

With the Class 805 Bi-mode Evero now in service. Would Avanti West Coast run them from London Euston to Shrewsbury from next year. It’s nice to see the Class 807 in service that Avanti West Coast have ordered to be used on London Euston-Liverpool Lime Street and Blackpool North. And possibly use them to Manchester Victoria/Manchester Airport, Carlisle and Preston. With the Class 390 Pendolino to continue operating to Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley.
It’s nice to see that the Class 807 Evero that has entered service. With the Class 807 to operate to Blackpool North and Liverpool Lime Street. And the Class 805 that now operates to Holyhead, Llandudno, Llandudno Junction, Bangor, Wrexham and Chester. Perhaps Avanti West Coast should allow the Class 805 to run to Shrewsbury from next year.
A lot of comments, OH for a MK1 FO, have traveled once on 800 series Bath to Bristol, that was enough, it was better than a Ryanair 737.
Why in 2024 do we have to put up with this rubbish.
HST weekend this weekend on the SVR will be running 3 trains a day Sat & Sun, shame they do not have original seats
Maybe you could reread or explain your comments as frankly I don’t understand the point you are trying to make
At.last extra services to Liverpool from London
Electric trains to Liverpool 60 years after electrification. What’s the story here?
Why don’t the Government contrive to get the Hitachi train assembly plant in Durham to produce more trailers coaches?
The 805s still have no seat reservations working are these any better? Also in first class a lot of Avanti trains especially at weekends have no catering and you can only sit in small half a coach seats often full.
Out of 8 trains caught recently only 2 had catering.
Less carriages, crap seats and ride and probably slower as no tilt, a definite Downgrade
They have two fewer carriages than the pendolinos.
More people are travelling and there’s fewer carriages. That means more people travelling like cattle.
The trains don’t need fewer carriages they need more.
But there’s more profit in running cattle trains.
The length of trains in the UK absolutely disgraceful.
Cross country run 4 or 5 carriage trains between Scotland and Devon every single day
It’s absolutely not the way to treat passengers and run a railway
Wouldn’t go near an Avanti train if you paid me they are a ‘just for profit ‘ railway
as for XC But Voyagers best not to go there either 🤣
The coaches are longer , I saw an 807 in service a week last Saturday at Coventry on the 1027 to Birmingham. 807003 was operating the service.
Strangely in the late evenings, when viewing Dawlish Station webcams, a XC set of a 4 coach coupled with a 5 coach set runs past, can be seen a few times. Unknown reasons.
A shame they don’t have tilt, so will be slower and take longer than the pendolinos.
Tilt is clever but only ever saved a few minutes on most journeys people make. The new trains are electric, the carriages are longer and there is more legroom than in a noisy diesel Voyager. Some folk will never be satisfied!
I’ve been pretty much satisfied with my few jaunts up to Crewe on the 805s so far. The acceleration away from a standing start is particularly impressive.
Aren’t non-tilting trains slightly wider than those that tilt? Surely more comfortable because of it.
