Black 5 steam locomotive to visit York this weekend

LMS Black 5 No. 44871 will be visiting York this Saturday (16th November) as it hauls The Christmas White Rose.

Departing London Kings Cross at 07:38, the train will pass through Harringay (07:52), (08:11), (08:25), Huntingdon (09:00), (09:37), (10:41), Retford (11:26), Doncaster (12:36) and York at 13:13.

After time in York, the train will depart, diesel hauled, at 15:53 and will pass through Church Fenton at 16:06 before reversal at Gascoigne Wood Down Loop, where 44871 will take over.

With the steam locomotive back in charge, the train will head to London Kings Cross via Doncaster (17:08), (17:52), Metheringham (18:34), Spalding (19:04), and Peterborough, where steam is replaced by diesel.

From Peterborough, the train heads to capital, calling at Huntingdon (20:18) and Stevenage at 20:54, before arriving into London Kings Cross at 21:26.
