‘A Bridge Through Time’, is an artwork led by the eight volunteers of the Friends of Fitzwilliam Station, which aims to enhance and preserve the station’s appearance while discouraging vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

The artwork which has been unveiled on the footbridge at Fitzwilliam station in West Yorkshire will be seen by the 29,000 passengers that pass through the station on an annual basis.

Showcasing the history and heritage of the village, it was funded by Wakefield Council through a culture grant, with the images created by Edgelands Arts working in collaboration with Fitzwilliam Primary School and King’s Meadows Academy.

The display depicts silhouette figures undertaking various industrial jobs that the local area is known for, such as mining and farming, along with favourite pastimes, which see the figures participating in sports and music.
