In this week’s Friday Film, we make a visit to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, which has an added quirk by having its own narrow gauge railway!

We made the visit in between filming at the Epping Ongar Railway and Ruislip Lido Railway.

Unfortunately, the day was down as a steam day on the website but it turned out that the trains would be diesel-hauled on our day visit.

No fear, we have seen the steam locomotives in action before ( also available on our YouTube Channel by clicking here) and have never seen the diesel!

No. 9 was in service for the day and is seen at various points on the approx 1-mile route, as well as onboard footage from a trip.
