A major redevelopment of Devils Bridge station has been announced by the .

The plans will see a new building constructed featuring toilet facilities and an engine shed to replicate structures found at the station in the early 20th century.

The former timber yard will be replicated in the new station, which was a key feature in the railway’s commercial past.

Finally, as part of the redevelopment, the railway has given notice to the operators of the Two Hoots Tearoom. The railway says that the decision follows months of discussions.

The VOR says that the temporary building is now life-expired and is no longer fit for purpose, but says that the vision for Devils Bridge does not include a catering provision as part of the plan.

As a Board, we are keen to continue the development of the railway, building on our achievements in Aberystwyth. The plans for Devils Bridge Station will restore the heritage character of this unique destination. We sincerely thank the owners and staff of Two Hoots for their many years of service and wish them all the best in the future.”
