Unique rail trolley, Lesmac Works No. LMA001 has been acquired by The Rail Trolley Trust.

The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway were the previous owners of the vehicle but in July, decided that it was surplus to requirements.

Just five days is all it took for a deal to be struck in July, documentation for the trolley being supplied by supporters at Lesmac (Fasteners) Ltd.

The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is focussed on a number of events, so it has been agreed that the collection of the trolley will be completed after the main running season has ended.

The trolley was built in 2010 and is fitted with a Honda GX200 RHQ4 engine.

Andrew Briddon has agreed to collect the trolley and store it at his Darley Dale site, where a full survey can be carried out to find out what work is needed to return it to full service.

The RTT is continuing to fundraise £10,000 to provide more storage accommodation for its older fleet, and donations can be made over on The Rail Trolley Trust website.
