Tickets for travel by Avanti West Coast on the West Coast Main Line over Christmas and the New Year have now gone on sale.
Avanti West Coast has removed restrictions on travelling during peak periods over the festive period to allow customers to take advantage of the best fares.
All types of ticket, including the cheapest advance tickets, are now available for purchase for travel up to and including Friday, 3rd January 2025.
By releasing the tickets for sale so far in advance, families planning a getaway over the Christmas holidays, a trip to the pantomime, or visits to Christmas markets, can take advantage of the best value fares, including Avanti’s low-cost Superfare ticket.
Typical Standard Class single fares to and from London include:
- Birmingham £16 each way.
- Liverpool £25 each way.
- Manchester £36.50 each way.
- Glasgow £46 each way.
As in previous years, peak-time travel restrictions will not apply between Friday, 20th December and Sunday, 5th January 2025 inclusive, so customers can take advantage of better value fares, as well as greater flexibility with their journeys.
Customers should note that on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, Avanti West Coast services will finish earlier and on 27 December and New Year’s Day they will start later.
Also, Network Rail will be carrying out engineering work on the West Coast Main Line between 23rd December and 4th January 2025, which may affect customers‘ travel plans, meaning they should check their journey details before they travel.
London Euston will be extremely busy over the Christmas period because some services that normally terminate at London Paddington and London St Pancras will be diverted to Euston.
