Tickets are now available for the Great Central Railway (Nottingham)’s first trains since the COVID pandemic.

The Jingle Bell Express will see trains run with on-board entertainment between Rushcliffe Halt and the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre.

Singing and dancing performers, along with a story theme will attract families and make it different to the Santa Specials as found at the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire.

A heritage diesel multiple unit is expected to be the chosen motive power.

More details can be found on the GCR(N) website.

“These will not only be the first trains back towards Rushcliffe Halt, since early 2020, they will be the first
Christmas services since 2019. We put tickets on sale on October 4th and several thousand pounds worth had been sold within the first 24 hours. It’s incredibly encouraging travellers are coming back to the line and visiting the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre too.”

Andy Fillingham from Great Central Railway (Nottingham)
