Prepare for a bewitching October half-term at the (NYMR).

From the 26th of October to the 3rd of November, the acclaimed heritage railway welcomes families to forge memorable Halloween experiences with an array of complimentary activities, and children aged 0-15 can travel at no cost.

Across the holidays the following events will be happening at the railway:

Spooky Station Stories (26 October – 3 November):

Discover the chilling pasts of and Stations through a spooky story contest. Allow your creativity to soar as you delve into the ghostly narratives of these storied sites.

Wand Making (28 October, Station):

At the station that doubled as Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films, aspiring witches and wizards can create their own magical wand at Goathland Station and prepare to cast enchanting spells.

Drop-in sessions for this activity will be available all day.

Storytelling with Hoglets Theatre (29 October, Pickering Station):

Hoglets Theatre unravels the enigmas of the Moors through enthralling storytelling sessions.

Secure your spot by pre-booking, as each session accommodates only 25 children.

Owl Crafts (30 October, Goathland Station):

No budding sorcerer is complete without an owl, and these sessions offer children the opportunity to craft their very own feathered companion at the owl crafting workshop.

Potion Classes (31 October, Goathland Station):

Magic enthusiasts have the opportunity to hone their potion-making skills, blending the mystical with the scientific. Can you distinguish your ‘eye of newt’ from your frog’s leg?

Drop-in sessions will be available all day.

Mini-broomstick Craft (1 November, Goathland Station):

Take flight on your bespoke mini-broomstick, the ideal culmination to a week filled with enchantment.

Adults can benefit from an All Day, All Line Rover Ticket at £49.50, which includes 12 months of free return travel, granting unlimited access to the railway for an entire year.
