Hertfordshire railway line reopens after person hit by train

UPDATE: Major disruption has now ended. Disruption of up to 30 minutes will continue until 12pm


UPDATE: Lines have reopened, and disruption is expected until 10:30 – trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes

Greater Anglia is advising passengers this morning of major disruption on the line between Broxbourne and Cheshunt.

To allow emergency services to carry out their work, the line has been closed fully, affecting trains from to Hertford East / / Cambridge.

The line from Stratford to Bishops Stortford has also been affected by the closure.

Ticket acceptance is in place with London Underground and Great Northern ( – Moorgate and Cambridge – Kings Cross).

Greater Anglia says that the line will be ‘closed until further notice’, with National Rail advising passengers major disruption will last until 09:30.
