Dovetail Games has released patch notes detailing the first major update for 5, incorporating numerous enhancements and resolutions informed by users’ input.

The update enhances TSW5’s core routes and introduces extensive functional and gameplay advancements for the Expert BR 101 locomotive.

Updates will affect all users of TSW5, regardless of which console/gameplay platform they use to play.

PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X will see small changes to memory optimisations, while the issue with profile importing on Xbox PC has been resolved.

There have been various updates to the West Coast Mainline on TSW5, these include small gameplay improvements to aid performance and make the WCML on Sim World 5 more realistic.

The lighting at Euston station has been modified to reduce overall brightness, ensuring that train coaches do not become excessively bright while inside the station.

The appearance of the London skyline has been adjusted so that it’s discernible from all suitable visual distances when driving a train heading into the capital.

Enhanced lighting has been amended when travelling through tunnels along the route to ensure that trains remain well-lit during transit.

Missing overhead wires just outside Milton Keynes have been added heading southbound while the previously floating in mid-air OHLE brackets are now attached to appropriate gantries.

Bletchley station has received updates to fix significant texturing problems, while passengers detraining will no longer become trapped in large clusters on the stairs as they head for the exits.

The exterior signage and branding of Watford Junction have been updated to accurately represent the current station’s management.

Camera collisions inside Euston station have been reconditioned to prevent previous view bouncing problems.

An audio bug has also been repaired where sounds of footsteps across grass were being played when walking across a metal bridge in the game, the appropriate sound of footsteps on metal has been added to give it an accurate sound.

The Class 350 has also received updates, these include missing sounds when trains passed over certain track joints which originally never seemed to play.

The headlights now turn off when switched off in the cab which they didn’t do previously.

Audio sounds have been amended so the gangway door plays correctly when compared to the real class 350 units.

In contrast, the animation of the doors closing matches the sound, and a clicking sound has been removed from the audio clip of the on-train fan aircon.

In terms of the BR 101 over 27 issues have been fixed with regards to this locomotive feature. These include audio, textures, visuals and slight control adjustments to make this locomotive more realistic to the real thing.

Over the next few weeks, additional updates will be released to tackle existing issues and bring about further enhancements.
