There is major disruption this morning on the line between Warrington Central and Manchester Oxford Road.
This comes as emergency services are responding to a person being hit by a train.
Services are being cancelled or diverted until at least 10 am this morning, with East Midlands Railway, Northern and TransPennine Express being affected.
East Midlands Railway says that their trains may be diverted between Liverpool and Manchester and will not serve Liverpool South Parkway, Widnes or Warrington Central. Ticket acceptance is therefore in place with TransPennine Express and Northern on selected routes.
Northern says that passengers can use tickets on any reasonable route on Northern trains between Manchester and Liverpool.
TransPennine Express services will divert between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street where possible and will no longer call at Urmston, Irlam, Birchwood, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway.
Ticket acceptance is in place with Metrolink, Northern and East Midlands Railway.
