The has set out its programme for the upcoming half-term break.

The Railway’s restored Baldwin locomotives will haul passenger trains from Pant to Pontsticill and back again.

The scenic route includes misty hillsides and the deep, reflective waters of the Pontsticill Reservoir, so the Railway reminds visitors to bring their cameras!

The Brecon Mountain Railway follows the route of the old Brecon to Merthyr Tydfil line, and boasts great views of the National Park’s most famous mountains, such as Pen-y-fan.

It also advises passengers to dress up warmly, as the coaches do not have heating.

The narrow-gauge Railway, which will host its first Diesel Day this week, will run trains on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesday to Thursday during half-term week.

Trains depart from Pant Station at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, with an extra 3:00 pm service on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October.

Last year, the Brecon Mountain Railway merged with the Vale of Rheidol Railway, which put it on a secure footing for the future.

“As the vibrant colours of autumn sweep across the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), there’s no better way to soak up the season’s charm than aboard a steam train journey on the Brecon Mountain Railway.
