A ghostly Halloween with a Southeastern train to TRAINsylvania

is getting into the spirit of Halloween with a Ghost Train to TRAINsylvania, otherwise known as Pluckley, Britain’s most haunted place..

The train with a difference will depart from Charing Cross at 10.34 on the morning of Halloween, Thursday, 31st October, and run to Pluckley, which is reputed to be Britain’s most haunted place.

En route, the train will stop at Waterloo East, London Bridge, , Tonbridge, , Marden, and .

During their journey, customers can join renowned Toyologist Peter Jenkinson to play some of the best Halloween-based games. There will also be immersive storytellers and board-game experts to help passengers get into the spirit of All Saints’ Eve with games such as:

  • Ghosts Can’t Draw
  • Ghost Blitz
  • EXIT Games
  • Pacmac Quoridor
  • the THING
  • Creatures and Outcasts
  • Zombie Burrito
  • Mega Horror House

The games are suitable for travellers of all ages, and passengers who play the games will be allowed to take them home afterwards.

During the journey, passengers will hear tales of ghoulish goings-on and spooktacular stories and learn about how Pluckley earned its reputation.

Southeastern‘s ‘Hop on Board’ podcast series featuring Rav Wilding also has tales of other mysteries. 

There will be plenty of opportunities for capturing Instagram-worthy moments, and to add to the Halloween spirit will be a special carved pumpkin with the Southeastern logo and a #ghosttrain decal for the windows.

The return journey will leave Pluckley at 14.36 and stop at the same stations as outward, but will also stop at Staplehurst.

Since Halloween coincides with schools’ half-term week, many railway companies are running Halloween-themed events, including Govia Thameslink Railway which has published a reimagined special edition route map called the ‘Trainsylvania’ map and the Watercress Line in Hampshire with a spooktacular Wizard Week.
