The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway is offering 50% discounted tickets to local residents for the whole of September.

It previously offered the same discount in June.

The discount will apply on several train services, and is available to local residents whose primary address is in the postcode areas LL22 to LL78 inclusive.

Passengers must bring proof of residency (for example, their driving licence) on their day of travel to show at the check in desk.

  • 14:50 Woodland Wanderer

From :

  • 11:40 The Quarryman [Standard and Gold]

From :

  • 11:30 Gelert Explorer [Gold]

The voucher code is LOCALSSEP, and will apply on these specified train services between 1 and 30 September 2024. Passengers may use this code when booking tickets online, on the phone, at Booking Office counters or on the trains from the guard.

The discount applies only to tickets for train travel, not to guidebooks, food or drink.

The Railway, which this year celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of its Ffestiniog Travel service, is the world’s oldest narow-gauge railway and runs for thirteen-and-a-half miles.

Even if you are not a local resident, but are a RailAdvent Plus Annual member, you can get a ten per cent discount on the Railway’s Boston Lodge tours.

The Ffestiniog Railway is one of a number of railways and railway-themed organisations – including the East Kent Railway, Crich Tramway Village, There and Back Light Railway, Alan Thomson Simulation, Steam Sounds Supreme, Rivet Games and Pen and Sword Books – which offer discounts to our members, ranging up to 35% off. Members can see the full list of discounts in their member area.
