The Battlefield Line has announced that they will be receiving a visit from New-Build 6880 Betton Grange later in 2024.
The locomotive will arrive at the Leicestershire railway in early November, coming via low-loader from the North Norfolk Railway.
6880 will haul Santa Specials during its visit as well as take part in the railway’s Mince Pie Specials, which operate between Christmas and New Year.
The Grange will stay at the Battlefield Line in January 2025 and take part in the 2025 Winter Warmer Steam Gala, with further details to be announced soon.
The plan was for Betton Grange to be ‘run in’ at the Battlefield Line in 2024 but was not ready to run and the visit was postponed.
