The 16-mile Severn Valley Railway (SVR) has confirmed dates for its annual special events which will once again be returning in 2025.
To cap it off next year sees the Severn Valley Railway celebrate their 60th anniversary since the pioneering efforts to first preserve the line back in 1964.
2025 will also see a national and international celebration as Rail 200 celebrations will be taking place across the UK and the globe to mark 200 years since the first railway in the world opened between Stockton and Darlington in 1825.
The Severn Valley Railway also has plans in motion to celebrate this significant milestone.
The events already confirmed by the SVR for 2025 are as follows:
4th – 5th January, Winter Steam Gala
18th – 21th April, Spring Steam Gala
15th – 18th May, Spring Diesel Festival
7th – 8th & 14th – 15th June, Step Back to the 1940s
18th – 21th September, Autumn Steam Gala
2th – 5th October, Autumn Diesel Bash
New events will also be held next year, alongside the return of favourites such as Open House Weekend, Model Railway Weekend, Brick Weekend, Vintage Transport Extravaganza, Singin’ on the Train, Ghost Trains, and many others.
Dates for these events, along with SVR 60 and its Railway 200 celebrations are yet to be announced by the railway.
