Great Western Railway is warning passengers that its services will be disrupted by work taking place between Berkshire and Wiltshire during the coming autumn and winter.
Network Rail will be replacing track and carrying out flood alleviation works on the Newbury route during September, November and December.
The first period of disruption will affect services between Newbury and Westbury from Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 September:
- Trains between London Paddington and the South West will divert via Swindon, making journey times longer.
- Trains will run between London Paddington/Reading and Newbury.
- Buses will replace trains between Newbury and Bedwyn, and between Pewsey and Swindon
- There will be a reduced train service between Westbury and Swindon, with buses replacing trains between Westbury and Chippenham.
Further work will disrupt train services between:
- Theale and Westbury, from Monday 11 to Thursday 14 November
- Newbury and Westbury, from Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 December.
