Emergency repairs to the railway between and Marylebone will mean that journeys on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of September will be disrupted.

Engineers will examine the 13 miles of track on foot between Aylesbury and following recent heavy rain.

Emergency cable repairs will be needed as water damage is affecting signalling.

The line will be closed between 9.35 am and 3.35 pm on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 September to give engineers safe access to the tracks.

The decision to carry out the repairs during the day was agreed with as it causes less disruption for passengers.

Trains will still be able to access Aylesbury Depot during the night for usual maintenance and they can also operate services during both rush hours.

“I’m grateful for affected passengers’ patience while we carry out these essential emergency repairs to electrical signalling cables which have been damaged by flood water.

“We have worked closely with Chiltern Railways to minimise disruption as much as possible by avoiding the key commuting and school travel times. I know some passengers will be disrupted and I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
