The Severn Valley Railway has announced a Super Saturday event this August, with visiting loco 45596 Bahamas set to feature.

On the 31st August 2024, 45596 Bahamas will join 2999 Lady of Legend, Stanier Mogul 13268 and D821 for a mini enthusiast event.

The SVR says that the event will recognise the ‘particularly superb’ line up of locomotives in service at the railway.

Additionally, there will also be the 100th birthday celebrations for GWR No. 4566.

‘We couldn’t resist calling this our Super Saturday and it’s going to be a great opportunity to see an interesting and somewhat unusual variety of locomotives on the railway. Standard fares apply, and we’re looking forward to rounding off the summer with a splash.’
