Throughout July Network Rail is working to improve the Nuneaton to Peterborough line by installing new track.
Between Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July Network Rail will renew track between Leicester and Peterborough.
On the weekends of Saturday 21st-Sunday 22nd July, Saturday 27th July, and Sunday 28th July track will be renewed between Leicester and Nuneaton.
These track renewals will allow for smoother and more reliable journeys throughout the midlands.
More than three miles of track between Stamford and Oakham have been replaced already since April.
During this important work, Crosscountry will be operating a revised timetable with some journeys replaced by Rail Replacement buses.
Passengers are urged to check the CrossCountry Website or National Rail Enquiries for more information.
I know that engineering work like this can be disruptive to passengers’ journeys, but this work is needed and will improve the experience of passengers as they travel by train through the East Midlands.
The work we will be carrying out will lead to smoother and more reliable journeys for our passengers.
While our engineers are working, I would encourage all passengers to check their journey before travelling via National Rail Enquiries or their train operator.
Mark Budden, Network Rail Route Director East Midlands
