Over the first weekend of August, the Severn Valley Railway will host a Brick Weekend at Highley Engine House in partnership with LEGO UK Railway (LUKR).

On Saturday, 3rd and Sunday, 4th August, visitors to Highley Engine House will be able to view some of the UK’s largest train displays built from LEGO, and LEGO models built by amateur builders from across the country.

LEGO UK Railway is a group of fans of LEGO who build and exhibit stunning displays of model railways built from LEGO bricks.

For this weekend, they will display a range of their creations at The Engine House. As well as marvelling at the ingenious creations, visitors will have the chance to get hands-on and create their own versions.

LEGO fans of all ages will be mesmerised by the many different railway-themed models and trains built from LEGO.

There will also be an interactive haunted mansion and a classic inglenook wagon shunting puzzle where visitors can test their wits, all built with LEGO bricks.

Trains to Highley depart from Kidderminster at 10.00. 10.45, 12.15, 14.15, and 15.35, and arrive at Highley about 45 minutes later.

From Bridgnorth, trains take about 37 minutes and depart at 10.30, 12.05, 14.05, and 14.50. Return trains to Kidderminster depart at 11.07, 12.07, 14.37, 15.27, 16.47, and 18.12. To Bridgnorth, trains depart from Highley at 10.42, 11.30, 13.00, 15.00, 16.20, and 17.10

Tickets for travel on the Severn Valley Railway, including freedom-of-the-line and short journey tickets, also provide entry to The Engine House, which is open from 10.30 am to 5 pm on both days with the last entry at 4.30 pm.

Also on display in the Engine House at Highley will be Great Western Railway 2-6-2T prairie tank No. 4566, with this year marking 100 years since it was built. During the previous weekend, Saturday, 27th and Sunday, 28th July, special celebrations will be held at Kidderminster Town station to commemorate 40 years since its opening in 1984.
