The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award from TripAdvisor, the well known and trusted tourist platform.
Once again, this leading heritage line has received a Travellers’ Choice award, making it the fifth consecutive year.
TripAdvisor only grants these awards to the top 10% of global visitor attractions, determined by reviews and ratings from the past year.
Management are very excited about the award and feels it vindicates all the effort and hard work put in by both paid staff and volunteers.
Get ready for a jam-packed summer season of events at Severn Valley Railway, offering fun activities for the whole family on all running days. The schedule includes:
- In July, the Severn Valley Railway will celebrate 40 years since the opening of Kidderminster Town station.
- A Brick Weekend on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August. With LEGO models from amateur builders across the country, and some of the UK’s largest LEGO train displays on show, this will be a must-visit for LEGO fans of all ages.
- A vintage transport extravaganza on Saturday 10th August. If you like vintage vehicles, own a classic car or have always dreamed of owning a traction engine, then the Severn Valley Railway is the place to visit on this day. Vehicles will be on display between 10am and 4pm.

It means a huge amount to secure this accolade once again. Millions of people across the world rely on TripAdvisor when making their decisions about where to go and what to visit. For us to be right up there with the world’s leading brands is testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, both paid and volunteer, who go the extra mile to make sure our visitors have a great day out.
