Tickets at a saving of up to 50 percent off the normal price are now available on TransPennine Express (TPE) through the “Secret Fare” option on the Train ticket app.

TransPennine Express and Seatfrog have extended their partnership and added more routes where the savings are available.

Reduced price tickets offering up to 50 percent saving on normal Advance Standard tickets must be booked up to 48 hours before travel and customers must be flexible about the time they travel.

When booking a Secret Fare, the price will be discounted from the normal TransPennine Express Advance Purchase fare, giving the customer a saving of between 25% and 50% on the ticket price across the range of tickets available.

When booking tickets, customers can specify whether they want to travel in the morning, afternoon, or evening, but the exact time of their journey will not be confirmed until 24 hours before their departure.

Iain Griffin, CEO and co-founder at Seatfrog
