OBB Rail Cargo group is launching a new product that will aid more flexibility and tailor-made customer solutions that will work with the motto of TransFLEX of “Your spot Transport on Rail”.

This product is designed to be as flexible as possible and is helping RCG to expand its wide range of TransFER connections and individual solutions.

The scheme’s pilot was launched in Germany in September 2022 and was designed to be an ad hoc solution alongside regular TransFER connections on a fixed timetable.

The scheme was an instant success, in 2023 2,300 TransFLEX connections were made. These trains were mainly run in Germany but also across ‘s border.

The main customers of the scheme are from the chemical and mineral oil industries as these industries are very time-sensitive.

The scheme was officially launched in Cologne Central Station with a locomotive being unveiled in a new livery to mark the scheme together with partners of MEV and Alpha Trains.

Alongside various partners, customers, and the press, Rail Cargo Group Board Member Christoph Grasl, Rail Cargo Logistics – Germany Managing Director Cenk Seringölge and MEV CEO Thorsten Dieter were also present.
