LNER is the first UK train operator to receive a Period Positive Workplace certification.

The certification was awarded by The Period Positive Workplace Coalition, which aim to reach menstrual equality.

LNER were given the certification in recognition of its ‘Package for a Friend’ scheme.

The scheme was launched earlier this year, providing free, organic TOTM period products on board trains and in stations and offices.

The Coalitions research revealed that 80% of respondents had a period start early and having access to free products, largely improved the workplace.

“Ensuring our customers are happy onboard and our people are comfortable at work is important
to us. No one can be productive and creative without first feeling safe and secure. Providing free,
environmentally friendly period products to anyone who needs them is just one way we can offer support and challenge period stigma.”

Tracey Barber, LNER’s Senior Employee Experience Partner
