Would be ideal for Heathrow Express to inherit the Class 379 Electrostars that would of been modified to operate on London Paddington-Heathrow Terminal 4 and Terminal 5.
I recently travelled from Abergavenny to Bristol via Newport.
The lift to platform 1 which gives access to all the other platforms seems to have been out of order for months,
No information about why or when it will be fixed.
Despite publishing a paper on unreliable lifts, the Rail regulator refused to do anything and passed the buck to Transport for Wales who didn’t even bother to reply.
Both trains were so packed it was hard to breath. I had to upgrade to first class on Newport to Bristol just to get a seat.
I live in Germany and rarely return to Britain.
Why do people tolerate such appallingly bad service ?
How do people with limited mobility manage to travel from Newport ?
Transport for Wales is publicly owned. How do the get away with treating their customers with such contempt ?
Surely if an essential lift is out of service for months voters are entitled to an explanation at least ?
As a British citizen living abroad my husband and I both bought a rail card online before we flew to the UK in December 2023 for Christmas when I Came home to visit my family. Imagine my disappointment to find we could not use our rail cards as the trains drivers were on strike during the time I was home.It was a total waste of my money and time…I had to hire a car and i had not wanted to. So I hear you regarding your thoughts on how UK is right now. England will always be my home in my heart but as for making things easy for people and less of the red tape UK is appalling… how anyone ever achieves anything i just don’t know… Nothing is ever straight forward. I never thought I’d feel fortunate to be living somewhere else but most of the time I do… Let’s hope things change for the best now!
Typical British way of doing things! Nothing works and no one cares! It really isn’t worth travelling anywhere any more! I wish I could afford to leave this awful country – and I never thought I would feel like that!
