Diesel gala set to wow Hampshire railway visitors

Visitors to the Mid Hants Railway will be wowed by visiting diesel locomotives at this year’s Diesel Gala.

Two Class 43 locomotives will join Class 50 No. 50021 Rodney for the gala, visiting courtesy of RailAdventure UK Ltd and 50021 Owners Ltd respectively.

The gala will take place between the 12th July and the 14th July, with 50008 Thunderer also joining in the fun alongside a .

To allow the air braked locomotives to operate on the line, Transport for London Engineering will provide the Ex-BR Class 483 4TC unit that will be used to carry passengers.

The home fleet of locomotives will include Class 11 12082; 08288 “Phoenix”; Class 08 D3462 (08377); D8059 (20059); Class 20 D8188 (20188) and 47579 “James Nightall GC”.

50027 Lion and Class 08 No. 08932 will also be part of the gala, albeit as a static displays.
