Yorkshire railway’s Jazz Train to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support

The have announced that their popular Jazz train will be returning.

The round trip between and stations offers onboard live Jazz, a charity fundraising raffle and a promise auction, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event kicks off at 6.30pm on Saturday June 22nd with live music and dancing on the Leeming Bar platform before the train departs for Leyburn at 7:30pm, passing through the picturesque Yorkshire Dales.

The Swale Valley Stompers Jazz Band will play on board, and also on the platform at Leyburn before the return trip. Why not join in? Have lots of fun and also support a worthy cause!

Around midsummer’s day, the Yorkshire Dales look especially stunning in the late evening daylight. You will have a fantastic experience.

Wensleydale Railway is planning to provide buses from both Osmotherley and Thirsk. Bus Tickets will cost £8 return, but the services are subject to minimum numbers.

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. 

Crakehall station on the Wensleydale Railway has received a plaque that recognises its National Railway Heritage Awards (NRHA) win in 2023.

It was great to see so many people support us last year. The evening was a huge success and we raised £3,700 in aid of Macmillan Nurses. We hope to raise even more this year for this amazing cause!
