Council has announced that station will soon benefit from a new forecourt area.

Work on the revamp project is due to begin on Monday, 3 June and will consist of three phases.

These will see new plants and bushes come to the forecourt area, as well as benches and cycle racks, and improvements to the bus interchange.

Overall, the aim of the project is to give a better first impression of the city to tourists coming for the famous cathedral or trips to Stonehenge.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed in 2025.

In the meantime, although standard pay and display parking outside the station will no longer be open, an alternative car park on the western side of the station will remain in use.

In order to minimise inconvenience, more long-term parking has also been made available at the nearby Central Car Park.

Salisbury station has also benefited from a new scheme to remove pollutants from the air.

South Western Railway and Network Rail have approved the forecourt plans.

As we gear up to start these important improvements, we are asking rail customers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys. A scheme of this nature will cause some disruption so by being prepared we hope Salisbury Railway Station will continue to operate effectively.

This is the second scheme being funded by the £9.4 million investment via the government’s Future High Streets Fund and supports our Business Plan to create and support well-connected, vibrant city centres.
