Internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and pop-superstar Taylor Swift is to be heading to Edinburgh this weekend as part of Eras tour.

From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June, Taylor Swift will be performing for the first time at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, where thousands of fans are expected to attend over the three days.

ScotRail is doing its utmost so that customers can travel to and from the event by train, they have issued reminders to fans or ‘Swifties’ as they are popularly known, about the train services that will be running during the 3-days that Miss Americana will be in the Scottish Capital.

Longer trains with additional seats will be running on trains heading to the venue and into Edinburgh its self, these trains will be running throughout the late morning and afternoon and will operate on the Fife and the borders routes out of the capital.

Late night services will be extended to help take the fans home after the show on each of the three evenings. The extra trains will be running from Edinburgh to Dunblane, Dundee, Glasgow and Perth, with the last train leaving Edinburgh for Glasgow at 00:12 in the morning.

Haymarket station is expected to be extremely busy not just with travelling fans, but because a neighbouring building to the station, which is undergoing building work, has meant half of Haymarket station is closed which has currently reduced its passenger capacity by a half.

This means the station currently has limited access, with fans being advised that allowing extra time for their journey would be beneficial so they can get to the concert on time.

Due to the part station closure at Haymarket, the accessible ramp at the back of the station is closed. Fans are requested to use the main station entrance, where a short queuing system may be in place during busier times.

Plenty of ScotRail staff will be on hand to assist and guide customers into the right queues for their trains.

Passengers are also advised that buying tickets through ScotRails app and mTicket system will be preferable, not only will it save extra queueing up at a ticket office or ticket machine on the day, it will also mean that your digital ticket is readily available on your phone.

Those wishing to still purchase tickets in paper form can still do so, but it is highly recommended to buy them for a ticket office on any of the days before Friday 7 June.

In keeping with Taylor Swift’s tour, some members of ScotRail staff have made friendship bracelets where passengers who have made and brought their own can exchange bracelets with the members of station staff at Haymarket.

Sunday 9 June

Fans travelling to Taylor Swift’s concert on Sunday and reminded that engineering works are taking place between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts, passengers travelling to the concert from along this line will have to catch a replacement bus, ScotRail suggest you allow extra time to complete your journey if you are travelling along this route on Sunday.

Key stations along the routes serving the concert will have additional ScotRail staff on hand to help customers. Additionally, it is important to remember that ScotRail prohibits drinking alcohol on trains and at stations.
