Passengers planning to travel on the Midland Mainline this June are being reminded that engineering works will cause some journeys to be curtailed, amended or feature a replacement bus service on services from Northamptonshire to London and from Leicester to Peterborough.

Works on upgrades to the Midland Mainline began two weeks ago, with the next part of the works scheduled to take place over the coming weekend.

On Sunday 23 June upgrades to the signalling system will be undertaken between London St Pancras and Wellingborough.

This will see some changes to train services. In addition to this, there will also be no Thameslink services to the south of London, from St Pancras to London Bridge and via Sutton.

Other works in the Central Midlands in the coming weeks will see track replacements taking place.

This will mean that buses will replace trains between Melton Mowbray, Oakham, and Stamford on 22-23 and 29-30 June. These works will largely affect CrossCountry services.

Customers are encouraged to check their services before they travel, especially if they are travelling with East Midlands, Cross Country and Thameslink trains.
