At this year’s International Loyalty held in Dubai, came out winner in the ‘Best Loyalty Initiative within Travel’ category for its ‘Club Avanti’ programme.

At the award ceremony, Avanti West Coast was competing against global brands such as Avios, Azul Brazilian Airlines, First National Bank and Saudi Airlines.

Among the points that swayed the judges were how Club Avanti had moved away from the traditional points reward system.

It is fantastic to see that ‘Club Avanti’ has become so popular with our customers.

Instead, it offers members a tiered programme that “truly provides a differentiated experience for loyal travellers”.

The programme is at the heart of Avanti’s aim of providing customers with great value for money and encourages them to choose the train over other modes of transport.

The scheme was launched in June 2022, since when its members have been rewarded with £5 million worth of journeys across Standard Premium and First Class on Avanti West Coast services.

When new members join Club Avanti, they receive a discount of 10% off their next journey on an Avanti West Coast service, a free welcome hot drink, and 10% off all items at the Onboard Shop every time they travel.

Members also receive Priority Ticket Alerts for when the cheapest fares are available, whilst Early Boarding Notifications allows members to board trains first at London Euston.

As members make more journeys, their level of membership class improves.

When they have made nine journeys within 12 months from their date of joining the programme, they are elevated to gold status, which qualifies them to one free Standard Premium return journey.

After making 21 journeys, members are elevated to Platinum membership and are rewarded with a free First Class return ticket.

Last October, Eurostar launched a similar loyalty scheme, but unlike Club Avanti, that scheme relies on accruing points for each journey made.

It is fantastic to see that ‘Club Avanti’ has become so popular with our customers, and recognised at these prestigious awards.’
