The Watercress Line has announced that it will be organising a 2-day special event on Saturday, 15 June and Sunday, 16 June.

Called ‘All Change’, the weekend event is going to be using vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s and classic songs will be playing in order to recreate the atmosphere of the mid-20th century.

The line’s steam and diesel locomotives will be operating services and passengers can board or alight at any of the line’s stations.

The vintage cars will be located at Ropley station, as will singer Stephanie Belle, who will be giving performances throughout the day.

Visitors to Ropley will also be able to take a look at the locomotives and carriages currently being restored by the line’s team.

Meanwhile, in Alresford, the Goods Shed will be holding a 50s and 60s-themed clothes market and children will be able to take part in pottery painting at the station’s cafe, named West Country Buffet.

This will also be serving snacks and beverages to event visitors.

We’re excited to bring the much-loved nostalgia of the 1950s and ’60s to The Watercress Line.

Children will also be able to play in a locomotive playground and selfie station.

While the Watercress Line has previously hosted Thomas the Tank Engine-themed events and has welcomed visiting locomotives, this is the first time that it has held an event designed to take customers back to the 50s and 60s.
