Passengers using the Nottingham tram network are being advised of upgrade work later this month.
The work is part of a range of ongoing upgrades to improve safety and reliability on the Nottingham Express Transit network.
It will involve replacing some track around the David Lane stop, as well as upgrading critical point infrastructure at Highbury Vale.
These upgrades are a key part of Nottingham Express Transit’s commitment to providing a safe and reliable mode of transport for all their customers.
Nottingham Express transit is a 20-mile tram network in Nottingham, England. It comprises two lines with 50 stops, and carried 14.4 million passengers in 2022/23.
The works near the David Lane tram stop will take place during the day and night. The engineers will aim to keep noise to a minimum wherever possible, but some noise may be heard whilst the work is taking place.
Contractors will also be working along the Phoenix Park branch line throughout each day, between Highbury Vale and Phoenix Park, trimming any overgrown vegetation whilst this section of the line is isolated.
Services affected
During the Saturday and Sunday, there will be no trams running between Phoenix Park and Wilkinson Street, and between Bulwell and Wilkinson Street.
This means that the following stops will be closed:
- Phoenix Park
- Cinderhill
- Highbury Vale (both mainline and branch line platforms)
- David Lane
- Basford
Alternative arrangements
While the work is being carried out, a replacement bus service will run between Wilkinson Street, Phoenix Park, and Bulwell Bus Station. This will also stop near to Basford, David Lane, Highbury Vale and Cinderhill.
Passengers can also use the Wilkinson Street and The Forest park-and-ride services:
Passengers are advised to check affected routes before they travel.
