London St Pancras: Bank Holiday travel advice released as lines close

With the next Bank Holiday just around the corner, has released travel advice for those travelling on the Sunday of the long weekend.

Services to and from London St Pancras International will be affected by engineering work that will close some of the lines between St Pancras and Luton.

Engineering work on the West Coast Main Line will also mean no services between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central and means that EMR services may be busier than usual.

East Midlands Railway says that a reduced timetable will be in place but says that it is going to add carriages to those services that do run.

A queuing system is set to be in place to help manage the flow of passengers, with EMR saying that passengers are likely going to use their services instead of the WCML.

Some East Midlands Railway Intercity services may also make additional stops at , and Beeston.

On Sunday 5th May 2024, East Midlands Railway says it will operate one train per hour between Nottingham / and London St Pancras International and between Kettering and Corby. Meanwhile, two trains per hour will operate Corby and London St Pancras International.

Passengers have been advised to check National Rail Enquiries for the latest travel advice.

“We expect our services to be very busy due to the impact engineering works will have on the and West Coast Mainline, as well as the closure of  Euston station.

“Within the resources afforded to us, we are running as many carriages as possible, and we are introducing a queuing system at London St Pancras International to safely manage the expected higher numbers of travellers – especially when some of those customers would normally use the West Coast Mainline.

“All customers should allow themselves plenty of time to make their journey.”
