ScotRail has acted to ensure that thousands of Taylor Swift fans (“Swifties”) heading to her June concerts in Edinburgh will have more seats and more trains to get there.

There will also be additional late night services to ensure that fans can get home safely after the concerts.

The singer will bring her record-breaking “Eras” tour to the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium over three nights from Friday, 7 June to Sunday, 9 June.

It will be the first time she will play at Murrayfield. The Eras tour chronicles Taylor Swift’s entire musical career.

It will be anything but a “Cruel Summer” for this and other events in the nation’s capital, thanks to ScotRail pulling out all the stops to get fans moving efficiently.

Additional late-night services will operate from Edinburgh to Glasgow, Dundee, Dunblane, and Perth.

The last service will depart Edinburgh for Glasgow Queen Street at 00.12.

Seats will be added to trains serving Edinburgh throughout the day, with additional carriages and seats added to the afternoon trains throughout Fife and the Borders.

Haymarket, the nearest station to the stadium, is expected to be especially busy on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and ScotRail staff at Haymarket station will get into the swing of the event by exchanging “friendship bracelets” with fans.

Immediately after the Eras tour was announced in late 2022, some fans suggested making these bracelets and exchanging them.

The idea quickly took off, and became a world-wide trend, especially prevalent at tour venues and events.

ScotRail will have extra customer service staff on hand at key stations across the network. They have also provided this important advice:

• Customers are advised to avoid queuing by purchasing return tickets through the ScotRail app before leaving home or on their way to the station. They will instantly be available on a mobile device.
• Customers should plan their journey times around engineering works on Sunday 9th June, between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts. As buses will replace trains between West Calder and Glasgow Central, journeys on this route may take longer.
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited on ScotRail services and in ScotRail stations. 

It will be fantastic to see so many people travel to Scottish Gas Murrayfield stadium to see Taylor Swift, and ScotRail is delighted to be able to add more seats and extra late-night trains to help fans enjoy the occasion.
