As FC head to this Saturday 11 May for their Isuzu FA Trophy Final match against Solihull Moors, Tyneside based train company have teamed up local Gateshead brewery Black Storm to produce a special beer which it will serve on board its trains as fans make their way to and from the game.

The 5.0% ABV Helles Lager, named ‘Whistle Stop’ as a nod to both a referee and a guard’s whistle, can be purchased from the onboard LumoEats trolley service.

Additionally, this limited edition beer is available for purchase on any Lumo service this week leading up to the game on Saturday afternoon.

They can also be bought online from the brewers directly at Black Storm Beer.

“Being the local brewery in Gateshead, and our beer being served at Gateshead’s matches in the director’s lounge, we’re delighted to see Lumo taking this partnership to new heights by serving Black Storm limited Wembley edition beer on its trains, and supporting Gateshead FC and their fans on their journey to Wembley. Up the Heed!”

The regular morning service trains have been named the ‘Heed Army Express’ as a reference to the teams nickname for the fans.

These will leave at 07:12 & 10:22 arriving at Kings Cross at 09:59 and 13:14 respectively, giving fans plenty of time to make their way to Wembley for a 16:15 kick off.

The additional train that Lumo is running is the return journey for fans back to Newcastle, this will leave at 20:26.

In celebration, special adorned decorations will be onboard both morning trains, in parlance with Gateshead FC branding, all of which reflecting the substantial support for the team by its Heed Army, as they travel to London.
