Northern has announced that Manchester Victoria will fall silent on Wednesday 22nd May to pay tribute to the victims and survivors of the Manchester Arena Atack.

Mike Roberts, a railway chaplain, will also hold a memorial service at the station at 12pm, followed by a minutes silence.

A second minutes silence will take place at 10:31pm, which was the moment that the attack took place.

The attack happened at 10:31 pm on 22nd May 2017 at the end of a concert by the American pop singer Ariana Grande.

The attack caused the death of 22 people, injured 1,017 others, and destroyed the arena’s foyer.

“The Manchester Arena attack has had a lasting impact on the station staff and customers at Manchester Victoria.

“As we mark the seventh anniversary of the attack, we remember the 22 victims and all those affected by what happened that night.”
