will issue full refunds to those affected by Co-op Live Arena’s delayed opening.

The Co-op Live Arena, located opposite the Etihad Stadium in , was originally due to open on Tuesday, April 23. However, a series of technical issues has led to the venue’s launch being postponed.

Most recently, a performance by American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was cancelled on Wednesday, 1 May.

As a result of this disruption, TransPennine Express has decided to offer would-be concert-attendees the opportunity to claim a refund for their train tickets.

This also covers holders of Advance tickets, which are generally cheaper but usually cannot be refunded.

We hope the decision to offer full refunds will provide some relief to those who have been impacted.

Those whose event has been cancelled or postponed will be eligible for the offer.

This includes customers affected by the cancellation of Olivia Rodrigo’s concert on Friday, 3 May and Saturday, 4 May.

Nevertheless, TransPennine Express will continue to operate a special late-night journey to Liverpool on Friday, 3 May.

Although the service had been specially designed to help fans get home after Olivia Rodrigo’s concert on Friday, 3 May, it will still run as scheduled.

It leaves Manchester Victoria at 12.36am early on Saturday and is due to arrive at at 01.14am.

The refund offer will continue to apply if any future events are affected.

However, if an event is moved to another venue in the city on the same day, customers will not be refunded.

In order to claim their refund, customers will need to show their concert ticket. Moreover, they need to have bought their ticket through either TransPennine Express or Trainline. Please contact the company you purchased the ticket from for further details.

No administration fees will be charged to those claiming refunds.

We recognise that many of our customers will be affected by postponed events at the Co-op Live arena. We hope the decision to offer full refunds will provide some relief to those who have been impacted.

We look forward to seeing them on our services once these events have been rescheduled.

Customers wishing to make alternative plans and an evening enjoying all Manchester has to offer can still travel on our planned late-night service.
