has unveiled its new First Class menus, which it says demonstrate its commitment to local food and drink producers along its route.

LNER has chosen suppliers from Caithness in the Scottish Highlands to London, including from , Edinburgh, , Durham, , York, , Leeds and Stevenage, picking good-quality produce from specialists who take a responsible approach to production.

Dine, Dish, Deli and Brunch

LNER offers four different menus to First-Class passengers, with the cost included in the ticket price.

The four are known as Dine, Dish, Deli and Brunch, depending on which train they travel on.

Dine, Dish and Deli introduced new menus less than a year ago, and LNER also offers a festive menu during the Christmas period.

Dine services will now offer an American-style pancake stack alongside its established ‘Full LNER’ and ‘Full Veggie LNER’ breakfast menu.

The Dish and Brunch menus also include the pancakes, along with bacon rolls and plant-based sausage sandwiches.

Passengers may prefer lighter options, and can choose Hot Buttery Crumpets, or Peach Melba Overnight Oats with peach, raspberries and blossom honey topped with gluten-free oats soaked in natural yoghurt. These options are available in all four menus.

Pie and fish

Each day’s later train services offer a variety of hot and cold dishes, with the newest addition being a Homity Pie, served on the Dine, Dish and Brunch services.

The pie is filled with potato, leeks and onion in a creamy sauce, topped with cheddar cheese and served with a crunchy green pea and bean salad and lemon vinaigrette dressing.

First-class passengers on the LNER’s Dine services may also choose a fish dish of oven roasted cod, boulangère potatoes and green beans, followed by either a cheese plate or a lemon and elderflower dessert.

From Wednesday 15 May, LNER’s Café Bar and ‘Let’s Eat At Your Seat’ service will offer a variety of new sandwiches and drinks, including both vegan and gluten-free options.
