More than 180 high contrast LED screens are to be installed to provide passengers with up-to-date information as part of a £13.3m investment by operator Northern.
The new screens are said to be better for passengers with some visual impairments, with the information providing a clear format that is easy to read.
The operator will install 186 new screens and upgrade announcement systems at 66 stations, including Blackburn, Beverley and Deansgate, and is due to be completed by Spring 2025.
500 screens have already been installed at 172 stations during the first two phases of the project.
