With the UK’s railway network set to be hit by more strikes, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has announced its plan for the next seven days.

From Thursday, 4 to Saturday, 6 April, and on Tuesday 9 April, Govia Thameslink Railway, which operates Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink, and Great Northern services, will implement an amended timetable because of a nationwide overtime ban.

On Monday 8 April, most Govia Thameslink Railway services will be cancelled, except for very limited services on the following routes:

• Between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport there will be a limited, non-stop, shuttle service.
• Between Luton, Luton Airport Parkway and St Pancras, there will be a limited shuttle service.
• Between London King’s Cross and Cambridge, there will be a limited, non-stop, shuttle service.

Anyone intending to travel on the limited shuttle services should check their journey planners, as their departure times and frequencies will vary throughout the day.

The industrial action on Monday, 8 April coincides with strikes on the London Underground, which means there will be limited options for onward travel across London.

Gatwick Express

• Gatwick Express services will be suspended throughout the period of industrial action from Thursday, 4 to Tuesday, 9 April, excluding Sunday 7 April.
• There will be the shuttle services from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport on Monday, 8 April, and Southern and Thameslink trains to Gatwick Airport on the other days.

Sunday 7 April

Services will be running on Sunday, 7 April, but certain routes and services may be affected by planned engineering works and industrial action. In particular, services on the East Coast Main Line between London and Peterborough are expected to be very busy.

The industrial action will also affect other train operators, but on different days.

Anyone intending to travel by train during the period of industrial action should check their plans before they travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk.

It will affect a number of sporting and leisure events, and football fans should plan ahead to find other ways to reach their games.

We’re really sorry for the disruption this strike action will have on our customers, especially as it coincides with the Easter school holidays.

I strongly urge customers to check every journey, every day, from Thursday 4 April until Tuesday 9 April, so they aren’t caught out.

No two days will be the same, so please plan all of your journeys carefully, including any connections with other operators, in advance at nationalrail.co.uk, and once again before you leave.
