UPDATE: 46100 Royal Scot will not take part in the tour today due to late running. Class 40 No. D213 Andania will haul the tour to Hanwell and then replaced by Class 47

Steam loco 46100 Royal Scot will be on the mainline this Wednesday (13th March) as it heads to Canterbury West.

The tour will originate at Kidderminster, but will be diesel hauled for the first leg of the journey.

Departing Kidderminster at 05:30, the tour will pass through Droitwich Spa (05:42), Worcester Shrub Hill (05:57), (06:24), (06:48), Kemble (07:10), (07:28), Didcot Parkway (08:00), Reading (08:25), Maidenhead (08:41), and Hanwell Bridge Loop, where 46100 takes over.

Departing Hanwell Bridge Loop at 09:57, the steam locomotive will pass through Acton Main Line (10:08), (10:30), Brixton (10:54), Nunhead (11:11), Swanley (11:44), Maidstone East (12:18), Ashford International (13:20), and Canterbury West at 13:36.

After a break in Canterbury, 46100 Royal Scot will depart at 15:55 and will pass through Sandwich (16:20), Priory (16:45), Ashford International (17:17), Headcorn (17:29), Paddock Wood (18:03).

Following stops at both Headcorn and Paddock Wood, the train will then be non stop to Hanwell, passing through Swanley (18:58), Beckenham Junction (19:13), West Brompton (19:45), West Ealing (20:09) and Hanwell at 20:11 where the locomotive will come off the train just after the station.

With the diesel locomotives now attached, the train will return to Kidderminster via the same outbound route, passing through Reading (21:25), Didcot Parkway (21:52), Swindon (Wilts) (22:18), Kemble (22:46), Stroud (23:09), Cheltenham Spa (23:37), Worcestershire Shrub Hill (00:22), Droitwich Spa (00:34) and Kidderminster at 00:50.
