Greater Anglia launches special train ticket offers this spring

As spring arrives, bringing the opportunity to get out more, Greater Anglia have introduced its new limited-time-only Hare Fares offer.

The offers must be booked before April 12 for journeys to be made between will April 2 and June 11 (Not counting Greater Anglia’s’ train strike day on April 8).

The offer will enable passengers to travel off-peak to varied destinations for £6, £12, £18 or £24 for day return journeys. Each child’s ticket will cost just £2 if they travel with a Hare Fare offer ticket.

The tickets can be used to visit a range of destinations across Essex, Suffolk, , Cambridgeshire and London, some popular travel routes identified by Greater Anglia are listed below:

A Hare Fare return ticket costing £6 can let you travel between, 

A Hare Fare return ticket costing £12 can let you travel between, 

  • Cambridge – London,
  • Chelmsford – London,
  • Norwich – Cambridge

A Hare Fare return ticket costing £18 can let you travel between

  • Chelmsford – ,
  • Colchester – London,
  • Southend – Colchester

A Hare Fare return ticket costing £24 can let you travel between, 

  • Chelmsford – Norwich,
  • Norwich – London,
  • – Norwich

Other routes are also available at the same prices.

The tickets can only be booked via the Greater Anglia App or website https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/ .

All Hare Fares tickets are obtainable as standard off-peak day return tickets and are only valid after 10 am. Standard refund rules apply.

Hare Fares will not be valid on journeys starting and finishing inside London’s Oyster travel Zones.

Other offers are also available, including 2FOR1 entry on prices to many attractions across the East Anglia network and in London. While a choice of other fares offer discounts of up to 30% – 70% off. Those include:

  • Advance fare tickets bought online or on the app, the earlier you buy your tickets the more you save
  •  GroupSave is ideal for a travelling party of three or more people
  •  London evening out fare is perfect for those who are planning on staying overnight in London
  •  Club 50 offers discounts on fares to those aged 50+

  1. I don’t mind what Greater Anglia are promoting some good fares but still they should invest more money in improving their network. But I do use Greater Anglia quite a lot and Norwich to London for £24 does seem reasonable.
