The North Norfolk Railway has announced that GWR ‘Grange’ No. 6880 Betton Grange will be visiting them in 2024.
Visiting for three months during the Summer and Autumn, the new build locomotive is nearing completion after a 30-year build.
The last Grange locomotive was scrapped in 1965 but thanks to the hard work by the 6880 Betton Grange Society, the locomotive will be in steam and hauling trains in August, September and October.
6880 Betton Grange is also set to visit a number of railways in 2024, including the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and the Severn Valley Railway.
More information will be available on the North Norfolk Railway website.
The GWR built 80 Granges in the 1930s but the last one was scrapped in 1965 – we’re delighted that the 81st will be spending a big part of her first season with us
