has said that will remain closed for a while longer for emergency repairs following a road traffic collision.

The level crossing on the A5132 at Hilton is set to reopen on Sunday 7th April after a vehicle crashed into it at the start of March.

Engineers need to concrete in a new post before fitting a new gate to the level crossing, with work taking longer than expected due to the amount of damage caused to the gates.

Pedestrians can still use the crossing, but it is closed to vehicles whilst the work takes place.

“We want to apologise to motorists for the road remaining shut longer than anticipated.

“However, we want to reassure motorists that our teams are working hard to repair the gates and the road is scheduled to reopen on Sunday 7 April.

“The safety of drivers, passengers, and train crew is essential, and the work is vital in ensuring the safe operation of the level crossing.”

  1. HILTON LEVEL CROSSING

How on earth is this an item of news….?
The need to concrete in a new post and fit a new gate taking longer than expected…..?

    11 Days..?
    Really…?

This work could and should have been done in the time it took to issue the Press Release…..and it most certainly could have been done without having to close the crossing. All it needed was a Flagman…
